The Metropolitan City of Milan is in the centre of a network of European large urban and metropolitan areas (financed with European funds) with which it is working strategically for:
- developing the Urban Agenda for the EU;
- building a common position for the ongoing negotiation on the future of Cohesion Policy and Urban Policy of the EU over the 2021-2027 period;
- requesting more programmes, instruments and resources allocated to the large urban areas;
All of this in close collaboration with the Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Regional policy and the rapporteur to the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework at the European Parliament.
Furthermore, the Milanese Metropolis is working at a strong local partnership with the City of Milan, the metropolitan cities (Metropolitan Service for Europe funded with European funds) and the Region of Lombardy.
The Metropolis is also developing innovative European projects of strategic interest.
